I wanted to look more at the character design when attempting 'Breathe' again. Looking at the colours of the character and giving her a bit more personality.

Digital portrait. This is a surreal sci-fi inspired drawing.

I enjoyed making my caricature for this University project, a little strange and lost in a fantasy world with her cat.

This was digital piece was for a University project where we had to caricaturise ourselves. This was inspired by numerous things that I love including; Hannibal, Alphonse Mucha, Alice in Wonderland.

This was a character design sheet for a bullying brief we had at University. It was a group project and these were my designs for the main victim in the animation.

This was the final design for the Bullying project at University. I drew him digitally on a piece of cardboard as we wanted to have a 'collaged' look to the final 2D scenes.

My cat loved to sit around my shoulders, so I decided to do a stylised caricature of us both in pen and ink.

I flipped this design on its head a little by designing the character based on the colour palette I chose to use. Its a mermaid portrait.

This was inspired by my work at a cafe, serving tea and coffee. I thought it would be fun to make a 'drinks maker' character design. So this is a teapot man.

A Satyr is a woodland Deity from classical mythology. I enjoyed adding a large amount of detail into this and then mirroring it, as I think the joined spirals make it look particularly unique.

This is the character for my Final Major Project at University. This was a quick thumbnail sketch for the character shot in one of my storyboards.

This is both my main character, in an early design of the environment next to the creature I also designed.

This is the quadruped colour and design sheet for the creature design in my Final Major Project at University. I chose the blue design with a purple-brown tail. The design process can be seen on my University blogger page.

This was a quick stylised sketch, experimenting again with colour, and exaggerated anatomy.

A creature design, drawn in ball point pen, and ink. I experimented with shading an detail in this.

Looking at perspective and adding personality to a character design, through props and expression. I like to this character looks like they have a backstory to them.

This was a quick pencil drawing, a shrugging girl with a forest on her shoulder.

This was a charcoal design, from quite a few years ago now, when I was trying to improve drawing side profiles. I added roses because I enjoyed drawing the extreme contrast between light and dark.

This was another digital character design of a woman. I enjoyed creating a pastel colour palette for this but then with the accented red colours.

More experimentation with the idea of landscapes and characters, again this character has a backstory. I made this drawing into a full canvas painting. But I really love the pen lines in this.

Life study of my friend dressed as the mad hatter. The actual outfit was for a photography shoot, but I drew it as well.

Another drawing when I was first getting used to digital artwork, I did a colour study after I made the digital pencil sketch, but found I was fond of both of them.

A steampunk Cat in gothic style frame! A fun design combining lots of inspirations.

Another study, this time of the Winter soldier from Captain America. I spent a long time practicing drawing people

A pen sketch of a character in a street. The landscape in the puddle is a busier landscape.

Character design and looking at different textures and shadings digitally.
