ShowReel (2017)

Below is the final character named Richard.

A lot of hard work went into this part of the project, I fully designed, modeled, textured, rigged and animated him. My University Blogger shows the full process of this, as well as the Matte painting and other components.

He was modeled using Autodesk Maya and Zbrush, textured using the Foundry Mari and rendered with Solid Angle's Arnold, and I created my own rig for him and animated him.

A turnaround showing his different shader properties and render layers can be seen below.

This is an animation I worked on in a group project with two other artists: Oliver Driscoll and Rosie Jarvis.

I created all of the 2D backgrounds, and worked on a number of the 3D animation scenes, as well as texturing the 3D character and animating the background for the 2D underwater shot in After Effects.
